Before I cover the first episode since the creation of this blog, here are some random thoughts in general of the show.
- The 'Sexual Chocolate' chants towards Mark Henry is pretty amusing still. Given that he's supposed to be such a scary big dude who has opened up a 'Hall of Pain', it's fun seeing him try to hold back a smile each time that chant picks up, which seems to be almost every match he is in now.

- Speaking of chants, the 'CM Punk' chants randomly throughout the show during boring points really make things uncomfortable. You know Vinny Mac isn't happy when that breaks out. We may never know what exactly happened with that falling out, but you know damn well that it doesn't seem likely Punk will ever return. The dude beats to the sound of his own drum and I don't really think he cares about making a return. We can only dream.
- Could WWE have chosen a worse time to give Dean Ambrose time off to make one of their shitty action movies which about 40 people will watch? Ambrose and Seth Rollins were providing one of the best feuds of the year. The crowds were so into it and so behind Ambrose that he was quickly becoming a top face. We may have the second coming of Stone Cold Steve Austin in Dean Ambrose, but WWE took away all his momentum by making him play some scorned cop who got shot and wants revenge. Like that movie hasn't been done before. Let's please hope that Ambrose comes back soon, and hopefully when he does it is with a good ol' fashioned surprise return which drives the crowd insane.

- I give credit to WWE for making Brock Lesnar look like a beast who cannot be toppled. Whoever is the person to take the belt off of him has to look credible, and for the love of everything that is sacred, it can't be John Cena. Unless Cena and Lesnar pull a double turn and Cena FINALLY turns heel, I don't want Cena winning the belt for a loooong time. WWE needs to take this time to develop someone with a bright future into a serious contender.

Seriously, even bringing back this gimmick would be a nice change of pace. |
- Cesaro needs a push. What the hell is WWE Creative's problem with him? After winning the Battle Royale at Wrestlemania he had kinda turned face and gained a lot of support from the crowds because of his move set and amazing strength. I don't care if it's planned and whatnot, but him singlehandedly tossing the Big Show over the top rope was impressive. He's talented and he could be a good face and maybe an even better heel. Just make him relevant!
- Sheamus bores me. Get a tan. And turn heel. Now.
- WWE can't let Bray Wyatt go stale. Keep him as a demonic creepy guy with a mysterious background and a thirst for causing harm and chaos. Since Wrestlemania he's been 'eh'. Too many ups and downs and the feud with Jericho was pretty disappointing in general. Maybe that was due to overhyping it, but it's time Wyatt is in a meaningful storyline where he can be his crazy self. Follow the buzzards, bitches.

- Anyone think the tag team division is just a collective shit show right now? Maybe WWE messed up by not letting Harper and Rowan take the belts from the Uso's during one of their classic bouts at the past few pay-per-views. Uso's deserve to be at the top of the mix, but they've been champs for a while and need better competition. And no, I don't think Goldust and Stardust are great competition.
- Finally, Raw is 3 hours long. That's a long time for a show. More and more recently they have been a pretty boring 3 hours. They need to stop doing so much with Total Divas and just develop the storylines. I read somewhere (I honestly forget where, maybe Bleacher Report? Forgive me here) about someone saying that Raw in the glory years was 2 hours long and they packed in so much more material than the current 3 hour episodes, which is pretty sad. Imagine how much more could have been done if the Raw's of the Attitude Era were 3 hours long? Oh man. That'd be must see TV, and back then it already was must see TV.
Until tomorrow night,
-JK
